About
Best Western Game Soundtracks is a review magazine for video game music. We cover the overlooked and the canonical — PS1-era CD-audio experiments, 16-bit composers working inside ridiculous chip constraints, and modern game scores that deserve more than a Metacritic paragraph.
How we review
- Every review starts with a verified track listing — from Discogs, MusicBrainz, or the original physical release. We don't invent track names.
- We cite at least two external sources per review.
- Scores are on our own 1–10 scale. We do not reproduce or aggregate Metacritic, RateYourMusic, or any other site's ratings.
- Album art comes from Wikimedia Commons or is used as a clearly labeled fair-use thumbnail. No AI-generated art, ever.
What we don't do
- Sponsored reviews.
- "Top 100" listicles without the critical legwork to back them up.
- Fabricated composer biographies or track listings — if we can't source it, we don't publish it.
